back again for HALLOWEEN!!
Back again... I have a lot more time to myself now so I'm gonna TRY to at least make a few new layouts a day, or week? I just need to get back in the swing of things and back to designing again now that I have the time.
Updated the Featured section to show off the Halloween designs I have so far. And I added a brand new imageless layout for Halloween today. Be looking out for more soon!

update!!
I finally got around to fixing some issues with a few of the layouts that weren't displaying correctly in Firefox. The only ones that are still looking wonky (as far as I can tell) are the imageless ones Rainbow and Yellow Boxes. Everything else has been fixed and should be the same as their thumbnails in both internet explorer and firefox!!
I may start making new layouts again and I want to change the main layout of the site as well. I've been busy with work (and pretty much forgot about the site for a while) but I would like to get back into the swing of things. Remember to leave suggestions in the guestbook or comments and I'll try to do any that catch my eye!

I'm human and I make mistakes. Please if you try to use one of my layouts and it doesn't look right, contact me so I can see what's wrong and fix it for you. I love when people use my layouts and I don't want it to be my fault if something's wrong with them. I'm online ALL THE TIME so it really doesn't take long for me to fix something and get it up here fixed.

I updated the profile links, a few more people are using some of my layouts!!
I really do love when people use my layouts! I wish more people would.
Anyways, I need suggestions for more layouts. Leave a note or sign the guestbook if you have one. I check the guestbook EVERY DAY, the notes less often so if you leave a message I'll get it soon after.

no more vicious-love
Sarah at Vicious-Love decided that she wanted to turn it into a collective site for herself. She got another domain that I'll probably be moving to, but right now the FTP info she sent me for it doesn't work so I can't put the page up there. But the fateback version is up and running as usual. I may just decide to keep it there or move it one of my own domains someday. I think it's doing just fine there so it works and that's all that matters.

Finally was able to FTP to vicious-love. So now BOTH sites are up-to-date. Use my layouts!! You love them!! Just leave a note or sign the guestbook so I can link you back.

I finally finished the re-do.
You can see it correctly at the http://jlkdesigns.fateback.com version. The http://vicious-love.net/jlkdesigns/ version isn't updated yet since I haven't been able to view or FTP there lately.
Please let me know ASAP if you find any problems with any of the layouts.

I added a few of the re-coded layouts. You'll know it was re-coded if there is more info than usual on the page where you get the layout. I am about half way done re-coding them and will let you know when they are all done. The re-coded layouts link to images in my comcast account. These SHOULD still be working remotely. I tested them at my domain and it worked. Please let me know if they don't.

fixing things
I am in the process of re-coding all the layouts. Just fixing some little flaws and making them work in Netscape as well as Internet Explorer. Also adding a couple new layouts when I'm done with that.

7 new layouts!! More on the way!
7 new layouts today!! You should all be so proud. I'm thinking about re-organizing them so that it's easy to find what you're looking for.
I'll probably make a few more tommorow since I don't think I'll have much else to do.
As always, I am looking for some inspiration from you guys if anyone still even comes here.
I'm trying to make a collection with something for everyone. I want to see my layouts used on people's sites. I get jealous of more sucessful layout sites where I'm always catching people on my buddy list with their layouts. I really need to get my butt in gear and make more layouts for you people so you'll use them like you use theirs.

new image host
Ok, so it looks like I found a new place to host the images for you. I can't guarantee anything but it looks like my test page worked. You don't have to change anything in the codes, I changed it all, if you put up a layout before and the images didn't work, the codes are all updated so they should work now.
This is only in effect for the fateback version of the site since I couldn't log in at vicious-love.
Leave me a note if the images still don't work.

site down, fixed it, inspire me
so for some reason it looks like vicious-love is down. I don't know but I can't get to it and it doesn't seem like other people can. So I put it back up at jlkdesigns.fateback.com too so that people can still find it if the first place doesn't work.
I need some inspiration from you guys who still visit the site. Please leave me a note or something with ideas for layouts. I'm talking for imageless or imaged layouts that everyone can use. I shot out that Easter one a couple days before Easter just so that they're would be SOMETHING for the holiday. Plus I had been busy with work for a while but then had a couple days off which let me catch up on my own sites.

new layout, featured section...
recently re-did an old layout (from my diary) for the layout here. Also added a "featured" page where I will feature layouts for holidays or just cuz I like them a lot at the time. Check it out!

1 new layout
added a new layout, Super Panda and Jump-Roping Mice. It's really cute and colorful. It uses tables too so it will work in Netscape as well as IE.
Should be making a new layout for this site soon. Just need some inspiration.

I really don't know what I have to do to get people to use my layouts. Everyone I've talked to says they really like them. But only a select few have used them. What's the problem?

5 new imageless layouts!!! I'm so proud of them too!! Some of them look like they have images in them but they don't, oh how I love WingDings and WebDings! Hope you like the new layouts!! I knew I'd get some imageless inspiration sooner or later!!

I can host the images!!
Big News!!!! I finally found a way to host all the images for you. I made the appropriate changes in all the layouts. You still might want to at least save the image(s) for the layout you want to use just in case something happens to them. Now you can just copy and paste the codes without having to make any changes.
I also made a page with instructions on what to change if you use the weblog style for your diary. Let me know if I made any mistakes with that or if you need any help.
Expect more goodies soon. I'm going to try and make a few more imageless layouts. REMEMBER leave a note or sign the guestbook if you are using one of my layouts!!! Thanks,

Made two new imageless layouts (finally). They are Yellow Boxes and Rainbow. So that makes 4 total so far. Still need more, I'm working on it. Updated some other subpages, added some links in the Extras section...

some updates
Today I updated all the codes so you don't have to change USERNAME to your USERNAME, I used a diaryland code that does it for you.
Also updated the terms of use and credit information.
Also in case anyone was wondering, there is only one designer here, and that's me. So I do all the designs on my own. Just wanted to clear that up.

diary review suggestion, 1 new layout
I added another new template, the one that wasn't finished from yesterday: Have a Mice night!!
I also got a review from DiaryReviews which suggested that I make it so you can see the layouts full size, well now you can. Just click the mini pics on the page where you get the code and the full layout will pop up in a new window. You'll see I have more than just some colored scrollbars in some of my layouts.
As for image hosting. I really would like to host them for you, but my images are quite large and won't fit in one rancho web account. I can't let you use the bandwith here becuz I am not the one who is paying for it, I am just a hostee. It really doesn't take more than about three seconds to get your own Rancho Web account and upload one or two images to it just so you can have a nicer looking diary. Besides you'll probably eventually want to join cliques or webrings or something that would envolve a picture, and then you'd already have a rancho web account to do it.

3 new layouts
After a few days break I've come up with some more layouts. Today there are three new. Two of Bam Margera (Bam Margera Skates and Bam in Philly) and one Breakfast of Champions. They are all layouts with images. Still need to make some more without images, it's just so much harder to me, I don't know why. I have another one with images that is almost done and might be up later today.

5 new layouts!
5 new layouts today, 3 I haven't mentioned yet. They are Mutts: Another Rough News Day, Merry Christmas (ha ha), and Scream. They're all layouts with images. I think that's all for today though. I need to make some more imageless layouts but I am not very good at those for some reason. In fact the blue/grey one is messed up right now I think even though I didn't change anything in it. And I don't know when/if I am bringing back the tagboard yet. More stuff tommorow I'm sure.

2 new layouts
I did a major file move and deletion so you may have had a minutes downtime if you were just visiting my site, it's all better now and it's much more organized there and easier for me.
I made 2 new layouts in the Layouts with images section. They are Everyone Dies Alone and Gimme a J... I will probably do even more before the night is over.

grand re-opening!
Yesterday I was testing the codes here to make sure everything was right and the first one I did I noticed a lot of things are wrong with it. Diaryland added a zillion paragraph tags to it, and it changed all the tags for prev and next to the links they would be for my page. So I decided to move the whole page over to where I had been hosting the large images for all the layouts. Now I am using the diaryland account for news about the site and so people can leave notes and things like that.
The site is much better now. In each section of layouts there are screenshots of each entry, with the newest ones on top, and if you click the picture it takes you to the page to get the code for it. Also I checked all the codes to make sure they work and made a few changes to make all the pages look right in 800x600 resolution as well as 1024x768 (what I use). I hope everyone enjoys the layouts and actually uses them now that they work. Please remember to leave a note or a message in my guestbook telling me what layout you used and where I can see it, I'll add your link to the credits section of the people who use my layouts.
